The ARTPARIS+GUESTS contemporary art fair reflects market evolution with seven geographic and cultural platforms having the purpose of integrating emerging scenes and new creative values. These platforms are an opportunity to discover, meet, buy, etc. 

The platforms represent one continent and three countries: Africa, Finland, Indonesia, and Ukraine. But also Paris, the international capital of art, with its Marais district galleries at the Utopia/Dystopia platform and the Rive Gauche galleries which are recreating a Collector's Apartment, not to mention young European galleries specially combined in a curiosity cabinet entitled Visions.

Peter Knapp “Before the Infinite”

The Guillaume Gallery will be giving its walls to the skies of a major artist from January 28 to March 13, 2010: Peter Knapp (born in 1931). The "Before the Infinite" exhibition will show Knapp's appetite for the photographic medium, which he fully grasps by surpassing its most conventional uses, such as with these images of skies which he marks with a graphic touch.

Trained at the Zurich School of Applied Arts by Bauhaus professors, Peter Knapp adopted the visual rules of the school as his own: diagrams, the harmony of shapes, and interdisciplinarity. In this way, Knapp, nicknamed the "Eye" by Annie Le Brun, not only adopts the objects that he photographs, giving them his own esthetic perspective, but also the technique that he uses, thereby renewing the process. Some of Peter Knapp's actions are reflected in surface work on prints, and even in the very material of film. Complete scratching erases a portion or the entirety of the image and even creates a shape from scratch, and Peter Knapp then draws on the Ektachrome as he would do on a sheet of paper, except that in this case he is playing with the transparency, a throwback to glass plates.
